Black and White vs White and Black

I guess it doesn't matter which way around. The main thing is to make the picture simpler, less cluttered and easier to view. Although colour is great too, if rightly justified. Or am I exagerrating? Arvo Part once said ‘I have discovered it is enough when a single note is beautifully played. This one note, or a moment of silence, comforts me.' I often struggle with achieving the state of simplicity, unfortunately, both in photography and my music playing. But I still try.
